Wishes and Dreams

Wishes and Dreams

copyright Dan Wetzel & Kristen Grainger 2020

I wish I had a nickel, I wish I had a dime
I wish I had a pocket watch, to take me back in time

My heart is empty as a pocket, fraying at the seams
As I wander with your ghost among these wishes and dreams

I wish we could be lovers, I wish we could be friends
I wish I had a magic spell, to make you love me again

My heart is empty as a pocket, fraying at the seams
As I wander with your ghost among these wishes and dreams

I dreamed I found a wishing well, buried in the snow
I reached into my pocket, but I had no coin to throw

Are you an angel or a demon or something in between
As I wander with your ghost among these wishes and dreams

You’re an angel, you’re a demon, you’re something in between
As I wander with your ghost among these wishes and dreams
